Frequently Asked Questions

How do you perform BOTH live and DJ Events?

I have a system of set-up and performance that has been in place for over 20 years. I need no more than 1 ½ hours to set-up for both the ceremony and reception performance areas. The transition from ceremony to reception is done seamlessly.

Can I meet you before I decide to hire you?

This is what I prefer. I offer a free/no obligation consultation and concert. We discuss in detail the elements of your wedding, consulting extensively about the selection of vocal/keyboard ceremony music, the cocktail hour and also the CD reception music. The consultation will be from 1 – 1 ½ hours and is free of charge to you.

How will you dress?

When I arrive to the venue, I will be in neat, appropriate clothing during the labor set-up time. For the wedding ceremony my attire is a modest, conservative dress. A wardrobe change may take place at some point before the DJ portion of the event. This attire will be black, conservative and modest.

Will you allow prospective clients attend my event?

No. This is unprofessional and is why I give a free consultation with references to all my prospective clients. You hire me for your event that day. All my attention will be on you.

What if your equipment malfunctions?

I have a complete set of back-up equipment should any piece of equipment fail during a performance. I take special care that all my equipment is maintained assuring optimal peak performance.

Do you have a back-up DJ and pianist in case of an emergency?

I have an extensive list of available DJs and musicians in extreme cases of emergency.

Do you play requests?

Yes, as many as you and your guests' desire.

Can we have a "don't play" list?

Absolutely! I believe it is more important to know what NOT to play than what to play. I take special care in not offending my clients or their guests with inappropriate selections.

Do you also act as emcee?

Certainly! This is the most important function of my job. Not only do I make announcements to keep the event flowing, I also consult with the photographer and caterer making sure they are ready and in place before any event begins i.e.: Introductions, First Dance, Cutting of the cake etc...

Do you have experience with Jewish traditions?

I have done many Jewish ceremonies and receptions and am familiar with the customs.

Can you provide a microphone for our officiant?

I highly recommend this. I have performed at many weddings where the guests could not hear what was taking place. I have a lapel mike that he/she can use for a nominal charge.

If we bring some of our CDs, can you play them?

I encourage it! There is an absolutely large selection of music available and everyone has different tastes. I work with you in organizing what you want to hear from your personal CD collection during the initial consultation.

Will you take breaks?

Basically no. Nor will I assume that dinner is on you! I may leave the table for a few minutes to get something to drink at an appropriate moment. You hire me for a certain time period. I strive to give you MORE than what you expect.
